Timeline

Every dated event in the encyclopedia, in order. The thick band of entries in the 1960s and 1970s measures the archive's holdings — the digitized run of the Beaver Beacon — not the pace of island history; earlier decades are thinner because fewer of their pages have been collected, and events are added as sources are read. Events dated to the day are also filed by calendar date in the almanac.

The nineteenth century is thinner here than the record allows, because most of it is in registers rather than in researched articles. Helen Collar's transcriptions of the parish baptisms, marriages and deaths are indexed separately, as records rather than events: the parish register.
