Summary

The Beaver Island Game Club purchased thirty-two thirteen-week-old wild turkeys from Pennsylvania in 1962. After express-shipment and aircraft problems, the birds were flown to Beaver Island through the Conservation Department’s arrangements. The October Beacon says they arrived in good condition.

Evidence and limits

The account documents transport and an early outcome, not a later flock census or verified population establishment.
