Summary
The August 2011 Beacon reports that the Grey Ghost, a 25-foot double-ender once used by Island fishermen, was moved into outdoor display at the Marine Museum. Brian Kubish, Ron Wojan, and Tom Whitman handled the recovery after the boat had been left on Darkeytown and had slipped from a trailer.
The article identifies the boat’s earlier use in pound-net fishing by Jack Connaghan and later ownership by Emmet and Ernie Martin; Emmet renamed it the Nancy M after his wife. A September item again identifies the boat as being on display outside the Marine Museum while reporting the scrapping of the Sunny Don.
Evidence limits
This documents the reported museum display and the boat’s described history, not a conservation assessment or permanent exhibit designation.
