Summary

The February Beacon reported that the six-unit Forest View senior-housing building was on schedule for June 1 occupancy. It had four one-bedroom and two two-bedroom units, and the report said three people had made firm commitments while another application was being qualified. The March issue says the community was accepting applications, with income-based rent and utilities included. The April issue announced an April 17 hardhat tour and a wish list for furnishings in the common areas. The May issue says the complex was nearing completion and ready to begin serving residents, with applications available. The June issue says the complex was expected to be completed and occupied soon, and the July calendar advertises a July 11 grand-opening celebration. The August issue reports that ceremony and Pete LoDico’’s account of the decade-long funding, construction, and community-support effort. It still provides no occupancy roster.
