Program
The parade’s line-up was set for 12:15 p.m. at the Beaver Island Rural Health Center (the Medical Center), with the parade itself stepping off at 1:00 p.m.; the Chamber’s column explains the earlier hour was chosen “to accommodate the Golf Tournament which occurs earlier in the day,” implying the Fourth of July golf tournament was already an established same-day event by 1999. Games and events for children were planned again at the Holy Cross Convent yard, and food concessions and crafters’ tables were to be set up on the lawn across from the Shamrock. The Chamber called for volunteers to run the children’s games. The same issue’s Shamrock advertisement separately promotes Fourth of July weekend live music and fireworks-viewing at the bar.

This is a pre-event announcement. No held Beacon issue for August or September 1999 reports the celebration’s outcome, attendance, float winners, or proceeds; the only other 1999 mention found is a repeated advertisement for the BeaverIsland.net website citing an earlier award for its “Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks” photo coverage, which does not itself describe the 1999 program.
