Summary

On May 26, 2007, a small fire set by visiting youths spread into an 8-to-10 acre wildfire north of the Township Airport. Beaver Island firefighters, residents, students, visitors, heavy-equipment operators, and Island Airways’ Paul Welke coordinated an aerial and ground response and brought the fire under control.
