In August 2014, island beach walkers were asked to watch for dead birds during September–November. Collection kits were available for disposal or, when a bird was in suitable condition, necropsy.
This is a community monitoring request. It documents the requested reporting and collection process, not the number of birds found, their causes of death, or a confirmed disease event.
