Summary
A piping-plover pair nested at McFadden Point in 1988. After the DNR closed the beach and CMU students helped inform visitors, two of four chicks fledged successfully in August. The report contrasts that result with the earlier loss of Donegal Bay habitat to development and recreation.

This is a newspaper conservation report and does not replace a wildlife survey, banding record, or formal habitat designation.
