In August 2011, community members and Central Michigan University began work on the flagpole atop the former Coast Guard tower. A participant reported corrosion and missing bolts, the safe lowering of the pole and weathervane, and plans to repair, paint, and upgrade the assembly.

Evidence limits

This is a detailed participant account of work in progress. It does not provide an institutional work order, engineering assessment, final repair date, or proof that the flagpole was returned to service.
