Summary

In June 1993 the County Equalization Department, Island Volunteer Fire Department, and EMS were implementing a house-numbering and road-naming system intended to speed emergency response. An October 1996 follow-up promoted Kiwanis Club house-identification signs and asked residents to supply maps or directions where emergency access could be difficult. The December issue repeated the same sign-ordering notice, showing that the address-identification effort was still being promoted at year end.
