Summary
A working committee appointed by the Beaver Island Property Owners Association reviewed possible names and recommended The Beaver Island Association, with the mission summary “Supporting Environmental and Economic Sustainability.” The board voted unanimously to adopt the name, filed an assumed-name certificate, and said it would begin using the name and logo in communications.
Membership ratification was planned for the summer 2008 annual meeting.

This records the board action and prospective ratification. It does not independently establish the later vote, corporate filings beyond the newspaper report, or institutional continuity under the new name.
