Summary
The December 1958 Beaver Beacon reports 43 bow-and-arrow hunters taking two male fawns and 338 regular-season hunters taking 147 deer: 80 adult bucks, 32 does, 19 male fawns, and 16 female fawns. Three deer were found dead. The largest reported buck was an eight-point, 188-pound deer taken by Gary Dean of Bay City. The issue also describes game-division examination of deer for age, weight, and antler development.
