Summary
Sixteen students completed CMU’s two-week Beaver Island art session in August 2002, working in painting and sculptural papermaking. Their August 16 closing show at the Biological Station drew 75 visitors, and Doug Chambers won Best in Show. A later August 2003 retrospective by Julie Runberg describes how the sculptural-papermaking class used beach and woodland materials and continued to shape her Island-inspired work.
