Summary

As an early-spring school project, Beaver Island students tapped several maples around the school, collected about 85 gallons of sap, and boiled it in a large copper kettle on the playground. The Beaver Beacon reported that the project produced about three and a half gallons of syrup.

Evidence and limits

The production figures come from the newspaper feature. It does not provide a production log, exact tree locations, or a complete account of the participants.
