Summary

The March 1968 Beaver Beacon described a six-day men’s Rest and Recuperation outing at Bud McDonough’s cabin in Sand Bay. Bud McDonough, Russ Green, Walt Wogan, Archie Minor, Alvin LaFreniere, and Phil Gregg hunted rabbits, hiked, played cards, and checked the deer-yarding area behind Lake Geneserath. Three weeks later, the wives of the group and Loy Malloy held a two-day snowshoe outing of their own.

Evidence and limits

This is a community feature describing recreation and social life. It does not provide a precise itinerary, survey the deer yard, or establish that the named activities represent all winter life on the island.
