Summary
On April 17, 1962, a fire apparently originating in grass behind LaFreniere’s Grocery Store was discovered at 10:00 a.m. The Beaver Island Volunteer Fire Department extinguished it before extensive damage, although the report says holes had to be cut in the living room and first floor. Two other grass fires were also extinguished that spring.
