Summary
The May–June 1968 Beaver Beacon announced the Beaver Island Club of Grand Rapids’ third annual party, scheduled for October 12 at the Plantation in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The September issue gave the event the title “The Beaver Island Caper,” with cocktails, dancing, lunch, refreshments, a door prize, Joe Adams Trio music, and proceeds benefiting the Convent Fund. The October issue reported that the party drew a large attendance, William Kreuter won the door prize, and Austin Malloy returned his $250 50-50 prize to the hosts for the Convent Fund; the final total was still unknown.
