Summary
John Runberg’s October 2002 feature marked the McCann House’s centennial by connecting it to Beaver Island fishing and shipbuilding history. James McCann acquired a steam tug in 1895, John McCann later built the 64-foot Venus at the family dock in 1924, and Joyce and Johnny Runberg restored the house and operated it as a bed-and-breakfast from 1985 through 1993.
