Summary
The August 1967 Beaver Beacon announced the Beaver Island Club of Grand Rapids’ second annual “Beaver Island Caper” for October 7 at the Plantation Ballroom. The September issue added cocktails at 7 p.m., dancing from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., music by the seventeen-piece Royal Aires, and a two-day Beaver Island trip for two as the door prize. The October issue reported a fine attendance, Tom Savage winning the trip, Amy Zajakowski winning the 50-50 prize, and many island-connected attendees. Proceeds were to benefit Holy Cross Convent.
