Summary

The July 1963 Beaver Beacon reported two large Lake Geneserath pike catches. Walter Wogan and two sons landed a fish reported at an average of 23½ pounds and 42 inches, and three weeks later his son Ronnie landed another reported at 18 pounds.

Evidence and limits

The measurements are newspaper accounts rather than fisheries records. The source does not identify the exact catch dates, preserve a specimen record, or establish that the second fish was the same length as the first.

Open questions

  • Do a fishing log, mounted-fish record, or Conservation Department report preserve either catch?
