Softball. The tournament is photographed and captioned as the “Jim Willis Commemorative Softball Tournament,” with “Dorothy” presenting the trophy to the winning Flight Deck team. This is the first held source to name the tournament for Jim Willis, the figure credited in a 2002 Beacon retrospective with starting the island-versus-Charlevoix softball challenge in the mid-1970s.
