Summary

In November 2019, the Beaver Island Association reported that its board had written to a senior Great Lakes Army Corps officer and the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy Water Resources Division seeking help developing responses to high lake levels, wind-wave erosion, and threats to shoreline environments and property.

In December, the association also circulated an International Joint Commission request for shoreline-owner observations and photographs.

Evidence limits

The forum posts are a direct BIA account of advocacy and information-gathering, not an agency response or engineering assessment. They establish the local response effort but not damage totals, future lake levels, funding, or the effectiveness of any mitigation.
