Stefanie Burchill became Beaver Island’s first Great Lakes Island Fellow in September 2017, arriving after the community and partner organizations funded a communications-oriented fellowship. In November, she invited local artists to submit events for regional promotion. Organizers reported in December that she had to leave early for medical reasons and were considering whether to pursue another fellow and continue the communication project in 2018.
