Summary
The Beaver Island Game Club held its November 16, 1961 hunters’ dinner after announcing it in the November issue. The December report says 134 dinners were served. Archie LaFreniere served as master of ceremonies, Rogers Carlisle reviewed the Club’s activities, and Vernon Fitzpatrick showed Conservation Department films. James Carpenter of Grand Rapids won a year’s membership and a Game Club patch, while Nellie O’Donnell held the lucky transistor-radio ticket.
The advance notice also offered a $25 prize for the heaviest island deer, subject to weighing by the Conservation officer and prior Club membership.
Evidence and limits
The two issues document the program and reported dinner count, but not a full attendance list, film titles, financial account, or eventual heavy-deer winner.
