Summary
The December 2006 Beacon reported that DNR plans for a Big Rock park on the former nuclear-generator site had been scuttled over Michigan Environmental Council concerns about residual radioactivity. The proposed 450 acres included about a mile and a half of undeveloped Lake Michigan shoreline.
