In July 2014, a community forum participant raised concern that Beaver Island may have had only one paramedic covering continuous on-call duty and asked how a second paramedic might be recruited and funded.

This is recorded as community advocacy, not as proof of the staffing level or of any funding decision. Official EMS records or township minutes would be needed to establish those facts.

  1. A community participant said she understood that one paramedic was then covering 24/7 and asked about funding and recruitment. The post thanked existing EMS and health-center staff, but expressly acknowledged uncertainty; it is advocacy and community perception, not an official roster, staffing record, or budget document.
