Summary
The May 2006 Beaver Beacon reported that Mrs. Redding’s Trail received Michigan Natural Beauty Road designation after Barb Spencer spent two years collecting a petition and presenting the road’s natural features. The protected portion ran from West Side Road over Angeline’s Bluff to the southern section marked “Seasonal Road.”

Open questions
- Does the Charlevoix County Road Commission’s designation file survive, and does it list the exact protected mileage or boundary points?
- Is the “Seasonal Road” segment marking the protected stretch’s southern end still in that status today, or has it since been improved?
