Summary

The April 2006 Beaver Beacon launched a four-month contest for new Beaver Island bumper-sticker slogans. By May, the paper had printed early entries such as “Beaver Island the Great Lake’s main land” and “Relax, You’re on Island time.” The rules excluded personal and profane entries; the paper planned to sell the winning stickers and hold a party to select the top three.
