Summary
The July 1976 Beaver Beacon reports uneven progress on five island Bicentennial projects. The Marine Museum net shed was structurally restored and opened for public inspection on July 4. The Old Post Office addition had permits and an August construction plan; Heritage Park had cleared and graded land, a security light, and Trading Post drawings; historic-site signs were being made; and the publication project had pamphlets, a History Map, a brochure, and a planned 1,500-copy book.
For the publication project, “already out” is important chronology rather than proof that the surviving image was already in its final form. The Society said in May 1977 that it was correcting and expanding the History Map, and later that year promised an updated map for summer 1978. The surviving copyright-1978 revision should therefore be read as a later state of this project.
Evidence and limits
This is a progress report, not proof that every project was completed. It does not provide a deed, parcel survey, accession register, construction ledger, permit copies, complete contributor roster, or evidence that the planned book was printed.

- Reports the Marine Museum structurally restored and opened for public inspection on Independence Day; the Old Post Office addition permitted with construction expected in August; Heritage Park land cleared and graded with a security light and Trading Post drawings; historic-site signs being routed and painted; and the publication project’s pamphlets, History Map, brochure, and planned 1,500-copy book. It distinguishes progress and plans but does not supply deeds, permits, accession registers, a completed park, or proof of book publication.
