Summary

Baroque on Beaver’s fifth-anniversary 2006 program was announced for 29–30 July. The July issue repeats the repertoire and venues, identifies support from the Charlevoix County Community Foundation, and pairs a Saturday chamber concert at the Beaver Island Christian Church with a Sunday orchestra-and- chorus concert at Holy Cross Parish Hall; August and September items supply post-event evidence and community acknowledgments.123

Program and participation

The advance listing named Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, Vivaldi’s Gloria, and works by Schubert, Copland, Purcell, Weber, and Mozart. It also described informal harbor-area groups and kid-friendly activities connected to school string instruction. It says St. James Episcopal Mission sponsored the festival and estimates about 65 participating professional, visiting, resident, and seasonal musicians.1
