Summary

The August–September 1985 Beaver Beacon asked anglers who caught metal jaw-tagged fish to report the tag number, location, weight, and length to the CMU Biological Station or Jacque LaFreniere for research on fish range and growth.

Evidence limits

This is a request for observations. It does not provide the underlying catches, species identifications, or research results.

Sources

  1. Requests that anglers record the tag number, capture location, whole-fish weight, and length of tagged fish and contact the CMU Biological Station or Jacque LaFreniere. It says the data are needed to determine fish ranges and growth and that secret fishing locations will not be disclosed. This is a research request, not a catch dataset or completed biological study. The holding institution's portal restricts automated access; the archive holds a copy of this issue and can provide it on request.

  2. The held eighteen-page August–September combined issue PDF, filed canonically as August 1985, is paired with the remote OCR and confirms the fish-tagging notice.
