In February 2014, Beaver Island AMVETS Post 46 announced that copies of Korea Reborn: A Grateful Nation, a Republic of Korea publication honoring Korean War veterans, were available on Beaver Island. One copy was placed at the District Library and another was presented to Joe Reed.
The forum post documents the local circulation of a veterans-history resource; the related biographical claims about Reed remain subordinate to the stronger newspaper and official sources already cited in his record.

- The AMVETS Post 46 notice says one copy was placed at the Beaver Island District Library and another given to Joe Reed, and describes the book as honoring Korean War veterans. Its brief account of Reed's decorations is treated as community context; the Beacon's earlier profile is the stronger source for his service record.forum · www.beaverislandforum.com · 07 · t007202
