Summary
The July 26, 1990 Beaver Beacon published the Beaver Island townships’ “Vote Yes on Proposal C” appeal for a property-tax levy of up to one mill for five years. The appeal presented the levy as matching and operating support for closing the illegal open dump and building a transfer station, and compared incineration, an island landfill, and shipping compacted waste to a licensed mainland landfill.
Evidence limits
This is a township-backed public appeal, not a certified ballot text, financial audit, or election result. Its cost estimates and consequences are preserved as reported claims.
