Summary

On May 9, 2003, the ferry Emerald Isle delayed its trip to Beaver Island to participate in a simulated hijacking and recapture at sea. Coast Guard, FBI, Michigan State Police, and Charlevoix County police teams used boats and snipers in the exercise, which the newspaper described as the first of its magnitude in northern Michigan.

Evidence limits

This is a newspaper account of a drill, not evidence of an actual hijacking or incident. The article does not provide an after-action report or evaluate the exercise.
