Summary
The October 1957 Beaver Beacon reported that the ferry Emerald Isle went to High Island to carry 29 whiteface cattle for shipment to Charlevoix by Warren Townsend. The trip took roughly 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and weather forced the ferry to lay over in Beaver Harbor the following Monday with its cattle cargo; the paper said more than half the cattle remained on High Island.
