The March 1972 Beaver Beacon reports a snowmobile trip from Beaver Island to Naubinway in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula by Johnny Gillespie, Jim Wojan, Buddy Martin, Jerry LaFreniere, and Charlie Martin. Jerry’s machine failed near the northern end of Garden Island; after a weather-delayed return, the group towed the machine back.
