Summary

The June 2013 Beaver Beacon previews Beaver Island Museum Week for July 15–20. The August issue reports the Art Show and writers’ discussion, Alisa Kroupa’s Traverse Bay Underwater Preserve presentation, and the packed premiere of Amanda Trudell’s The Island of Strange, alongside the previously announced Protar home opening, Music on the Porch, research-station open house, blacksmiths, nature walks, pet show, films, and authors.

Evidence limits

The June and July sources preserve the program announcement and schedule; the August source confirms several reported outcomes but does not establish that every scheduled program occurred.

Sources

  1. Historical Society organizers corrected a poster: the July 6 Beaver Island mollusk nature walk was on Saturday and was not part of Museum Week. This is a schedule correction, not an attendance report.

  2. The organizers solicited singers, announced practice sessions, gave a July 15 7:30 p.m. program start, and then canceled all practice sessions. This preserves preparation and a late change, not proof of the final performance or attendance.

  9. Historical Society organizer posts confirm the Community Center antique-appraisal fundraiser, its donation-based format, and the Thursday live-appraisal timing. A separate organizer correction clarifies that a July 6 mollusk nature walk was on Saturday and not part of Museum Week. These are contemporaneous organizing notices, not attendance or receipts records.
