Summary

Beaver Island-connected communities held three St. Patrick’s season events in March 1963. The Chicago and Lansing parties were scheduled for March 9, while the island program was planned for March 16–17. The April Beaver Beacon reported approximately 200 attendees at Lansing, approximately 300 at Chicago, 15 islanders at Lansing, and $300 from the Chicago party turned over to Holy Cross Church.

Evidence and limits

The March issue preserves announcements and the April issue reports attendance and a donation. The figures are newspaper estimates, not audited accounts, and the sources do not provide complete attendance or organizing rosters.

Open questions

  • Can event programs, parish records, or association accounts confirm the attendance and donation?
  • What was the final attendance and financial result of the island celebration?
