From March 5 to 8, 2014, forum participants discussed several unusual waterfowl observations during the late winter. A bird first described as a male bufflehead near Paid Een Ogs Road was later provisionally identified by another participant as an Oldsquaw, now commonly called a Long-tailed Duck; the same participant reported another frozen male and said the DNR had been contacted. A separate reply described a live goldeneye in the snow.
