Summary

The October 1957 Beaver Beacon reported that a nine-hole golf course called Shamrock Hills was under construction on the East Road, about three miles from town, at the farm known as Big Tom’s. Former professional golfer Matt Melville directed the work, while Gary McDonough and Pete “the Swede” had disced the fairways in front of the clubhouse.
