Summary

The 2015 Baroque on Beaver was announced for 24 July–2 August as a ten-day classical and jazz program. The advance report calls it BICAA’s signature event and describes new support from SpartanNash and William Hill Estate Winery.1

Announced sponsorship and programming

SpartanNash was announced as underwriter of the 1 August Music: A Matter of Life and Death program with Festival Chorus and Orchestra. William Hill was identified as beverage sponsor for planned 24–25 July benefit jazz performances by Pete Siers, Paul Ketter, and Terry Lower. The report directs ticket inquiries to the Beaver Island Community Center.1

The Courier source is advance publicity, while the forum sources add contemporaneous institutional opening notices and one post-event audience response. Together they support the 2015 season and opening program, but do not establish sponsorship payment, complete attendance, or every final concert detail.

Open questions

  • Which final program or review documents the 2015 repertoire and performers?
  • Did the announced sponsors and benefit events proceed as described?

  1. “Baroque on Beaver backed by two new sponsors,” Charlevoix Courier, 2015.
Advance sponsor announcement gives July 24–August 2 dates, describes a ten-day classical and jazz program, names planned benefit events and Music: A Matter of Life and Death, and calls BICAA the signature-event sponsor. It does not prove completed performances. No public copy of this file is known; the archive holds one and can provide it on request.
  2. BICAA and Community Center notices give the opening July 24–26 program, including the jazz benefit, the Bach and Blues jam session, and the opening chamber concert. These contemporaneous institutional notices establish the advertised opening program but do not document the full ten-day season.

  3. A post-event audience response thanks performers and organizers for a week of music. It supports that the season was experienced as a completed program, but supplies no attendance or independent program record.

  4. The recruitment notice says the Festival Chorus was open to anyone, would sing with the Festival Orchestra under Kevin Simons, and would rehearse on Beaver Island from July 27 through August 2. It establishes participation and rehearsal planning, not the final chorus roster or completed performances.
