Summary

In April 1972, volunteers built twelve more picnic tables for St. James Township. Wogan Construction Company pre-cut the pieces and delivered them to Beaver Haven Marina, where volunteers nailed and painted the tables in roughly six hours. The Beaver Beacon says the twelve joined eight tables built the previous year, for a stated total of 20. A March 1996 retrospective repeats the 20-table figure and remembers the project as a six-hour volunteer “Picnic Table Bee.”

Evidence and limits

The report does not name the volunteers, give an exact day, or document where each table was installed. “Beaver Haven Marina” is retained in the source description and is not turned into an unverified place article.

  1. Reports Wogan Construction Company pre-cutting twelve tables, delivering the pieces to Beaver Haven Marina, and volunteers nailing and painting them in approximately six hours; together with the eight tables reported in 1971, the project brought the stated total to 20 tables for distribution through St. James Township. It does not name volunteers or document each installation.

  3. The retrospective recalls the 1972 volunteer “Picnic Table Bee,” saying that volunteers made and painted 20 picnic tables and benches for St. James Township in six hours; it is a later recollection of the earlier issue, not a new construction report. The holding institution's portal restricts automated access; the archive holds a copy of this issue and can provide it on request.
