Summary

The October 1996 Beacon announced the third year of Beaver Island Community School rainforest T-shirt sales, supporting eight acres in Belize’s Rio Bravo rainforest and nine acres in Brazil’s Pantanal. A December follow-up reported that ninth- and tenth-graders sold 140 shirts, exceeded their goal, and supported Earth Foundation and Nature Conservancy work in Bolivia’s Mercado National Park, with 14 acres conserved in the school’s name.
