The Beaver Island Historical Society announced Museum Week programming for July 16–23, 2017. The schedule included talks, tours, demonstrations, an art show, children’s activities, open houses, and programs at several island heritage and community venues.

The Society also solicited artists for the art show and said proceeds from a plein-air painting event would benefit the Historical Society. In a post-event thank-you, it reported attendance of a little over 1,200 across the week; this is retained as an organizer estimate.
