Summary

In March 1964 the Beaver Beacon described the Shamrock Tavern as a winter workshop where Archie and Alvin LaFreniere were making lawn chairs. The same notice said they were collecting sap from 50 tapped maple trees and expected to produce syrup in the woods.

Evidence and limits

This is a newspaper account of a seasonal activity. It does not establish that the tavern and the similarly named Shamrock Inn or fishing tug were the same entity, and it supplies no production ledger, license, ownership record, or later operating history.

Sources

  1. Reports the Shamrock Tavern temporarily filled with lawn chairs made and assembled by Archie and Alvin LaFreniere, while the pair also collected sap from 50 tapped maple trees; it does not establish a business license, ownership, production total, or later continuity.
