Summary

During the late-November 2004 gales, a large freighter carrying more than 16,000 tons of pig iron from Brazil ran aground in 23 feet of water near the Michigan-Wisconsin border. The following day, a small barge being towed to St. Ignace for repairs filled with water and sank.

Evidence limits

The local newspaper account does not name either vessel or provide the final outcome of the grounding investigation.
