Summary
The July 2005 Beaver Beacon’s “One Hundred Years Ago” column reprinted July 1905 Charlevoix Sentinel notices about Beaver Island visitors, vessels and lumber shipments, sidewalks, clergy, births and families, and the planned government cable and weather station. It also explained that the cable would carry written messages under government rules rather than operate as a public telephone line.
Evidence limits
This is a later newspaper reprint and summary. The original 1905 Charlevoix Sentinel issues remain the primary sources for the historical notices.
