Summary
In June 2020, the Beaver Island Historical Society announced a phased museum reopening beginning July 1. The Marine Museum, Print Shop Museum, and Protar Home were to operate on limited schedules with masks, distancing, cleaning, and contact information for possible tracing. The letter also reported that work on the Print Shop addition had resumed on May 7 after a pandemic stoppage. On August 26, the Society reported that the Print Shop and Protar Home had to close for the day because the buildings lacked electricity and adequate lighting; the Marine Museum remained open. It then announced reduced September hours and appointment-only Protar and October access.
