Summary

The Game Club’s 1961 trail work extended a marked route from near Miller’s Marsh toward Lake Geneserath and added two connecting or parallel trails. Painted tree marks and location maps were intended to help hunters and hikers follow the routes.

Evidence and limits

The newspaper gives relative directions and marker colors but not surveyed coordinates, right-of-way documentation, or evidence that the trails survive.

Open questions

  • Do any of the two 1961-added trails survive as a mapped or walked route near Lake Geneserath today?
  • Is “Dody’s camp,” as spelled in this 1961 report, the same location the archive elsewhere records as Doty’s Camp Trail, or a distinct place?

If you can answer any of these, or correct anything above, the archive wants to hear it — see Corrections.

Sources

  1. Describes a marked trail from the road north of Dody’s camp toward the north end of Lake Geneserath, plus two trails added in 1961: one from the north arm fishing site west to the earlier trail and another from Dody’s camp toward the west side of the lake. The article records painted directional marks and maps at trail ends, not a survey or present-day route.
