Summary

This held Census API extract records decennial population for St. James and Peaine townships in 2000, 2010, and 2020. The project’s island-total rows sum those two township values.

Evidence and limits

The table supports only the three stated decennial counts and the transparent township sum. It is not a continuous time series, an enumeration of seasonal residents, an ACS estimate, an ancestry measure, or evidence that no earlier population data exists. Earlier records require separately sourced printed federal or Michigan state-census material.
